Candybox Marketing & IBAO Seminars

I had the pleasure of working alongside Candybox Marketing for a social media tour they were doing around the GTA and Ottawa for IBAO. They brought me along as their photographer to take headshots for social network purposes. All photos were formatted into icons for various social network platforms.

I worked with two bulbs and a white umbrella, a white backdrop, as well as a speedlite to balance the light since I had to work with different settings for each event. Here are a few shots taken at various events.

Chicago

I spent last week visiting Chicago for the first time. I'd heard great things about it so my expectations were quite high, and for the most part, my expectations were met.

Dane and I left a few days prior to visit the city before the listening party for Listener's new album that took place Saturday. We spent some time with the band as well - mostly eating, drinking beer, and chatting. They're a couple of wonderful guys with a definite sense of humour. If you've never heard of them or listened to their music, be sure to take a listen and check them out here.

Wishing you all a splendid week!

Lights, Melody, and Bertha

I tested out some fairly new equipment the other day with Melody in her bedroom. The great thing about this equipment is that it's easily portable and I can bring it anywhere I'd like, including small spaces like bedrooms or even walk-in closets (although that's debatable). You're probably wondering who Bertha is, well I decided to name the backdrop that.

Montréal

This past week was spent in Montréal with the wonderful Laurence and Kevin, as well as my sister. More and more, I take significantly less photos when traveling just so I can embrace moments without necessarily having them on camera. Most of my week consisted of exploring, chatting, and eating. I will never forget that butter chicken.

Till next time, Montréal.

Emily, With Love + Clapboard House

Yesterday Clapboard House hosted an event at The Rustic Owl for their magazine launch, and my wonderful friend Emily from Emily, With Love was asked to do the floral arrangements for the event. She's a wondrous human being and has a keen eye with mother nature, and I'm so excited for all the marvellous things she will create.

M & J

These two met approximately 6 years ago on this subway platform - Yorkdale station. I find stories like theirs fascinating and inspiring, and not just because they met out of the blue and instantly clicked, but they met each other at a time in their lives where things weren't going so well and they were able to help one another through their circumstances and situations.

They were a pleasure to photograph, and I wish both of them only wonderful things as they embark on a new chapter.

Macaron Day

Nadège patisserie is one of my favorite cafés/pastry shop in Toronto - they serve delicious, genuine Parisian food that brings me nostalgia and makes me miss the little treasures of Europe.

Every year, Nadège hosts Macaron Day and partners with an organization called Meal Exchange - a charity that engages youth to alleviate hunger locally. You can also find the photos on Hearth magazine, a lovely lifestyle magazine that features a variety of work. They just released their first volume which you can purchase on their website.
